About Us
Department of Prasuti Tantra and Stri Roga was established in 1976 as an undergraduate department and upgraded to Postgraduate department jointly with Kaumarabhritya in 1988. Over the years department has grown keeping pace with ever increasing advances in field of Ayurveda and established itself as an independent department in 2003. Currently, the department of Prasuti and Stri Roga has robust Teaching and Training programmes for Ph.D. (Ayurveda), Post-Graduation (M.S. Ayurveda), Undergraduation (BAMS), Garbhasanskara, Nursing (Diploma in Ayurvedic Nursing & Pharmacy) and Stri Roga Sthanika Chikitsa Certificate Course. Department provides holistic care to women of all age groups in all spheres. For comprehensive patient care department is running dedicated units for Stri Roga (Gynaecology), Infertility, In-situ local treatments (Sthanika Chikitsa) and Cancer screening. The Prasuti Section of the Department provides facilities for Ante natal screening and counselling (Garbhini Paricharya), Normal, assisted and cesarean delivery (Prasava Paricahrya) and Postnatal care (Sutika Paricharya). The department also emphasizes on achieving Shreyasi Praja through proper Beejasanskara and Garbhasanskara procedures. Our department is also having a well established Simulation Lab equipped with High fidelity birthing Simulator and low fidelity obstetric tool for hands to hand training of students. In addition to education and patient care, department also strive to maintain highest standard of research in the field of Ayurveda. The department has special focus on quality improvement and encourages faculty and residents to lead quality improvement projects. Trained undergraduates and post graduates from this department are providing care par excellence to women in India and globally. Currently department is run under the supervision of Head, Prof. Bharathi Kumaramangalam, two Associate professors ( Dr. B. Pushpalatha, Dr. Hetal H. Dave), three Assistant professors ( Dr. Sonu, Dr. Poonam Choudhary, Dr. Jyotsna Thakur) and one Clinical registrar (Dr. Anu M S) with supporting technical and non teaching staffs.

· Knowledge about Safety aspects and Pharmacovigilance for ASU drugs.
· Basic knowledge of Bioinformatics, scope of bioinformatics, role of computers in biology.
· Knowledge of Data base- Pub med, Medlar and Scopus and can access databases.
· Basic knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights- Different aspect and steps in patenting, Information on Traditional Knowledge, Digital Library (TKDL).
Program Specific Outcome of M.S. Ayurveda(Prasuti Tantra & Stri Roga)
· Achieve detail fundamental and applied knowledge of Prasuti Trantra and Stri Roga.
· Function effectively as a Prasuti Tantra and Stri Roga specialist, to provide optimal, ethical and patient-centered medical care.
· Establish and maintain clinical knowledge, skills, and behaviours appropriate to Prasuti Tantra & Stri Roga.
· Diagnose and treat common gynecological and obstetric issues efficiently.
· Develop skillset related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for effective management of various gynaecological and obstetrical conditions.
· Achieve the surgical skills required for gynecological and obstetrics practice.
· Have the Knowledge of various health programs related to maternal health such as RCH programmes and role of Ayurveda in implementing these programmes.
